Our Bond Offer raised £1.2 million with 75 days ahead of schedule.
We were overwhelmed by the unprecedented support for our recent Bond Offer and would like to thank all the investors old and new who helped us to reach our target of £1.2 million, an incredible 75 days ahead of schedule.
Community energy provides opportunities for people to become part of the practical solution to climate change at this crucial time for our planet. Thanks to our investors we will install a further 1.2 MW of rooftop solar schemes across 7 more local schools and community sites, reducing carbon and delivering up to £65,000 per year in reduced fuel bills and additional community funds.
And as BWCE is a Community Benefit Society and is radically different from an ordinary company we are required to prioritise benefit to the wider community. We do pay interest on investors capital, but we do not distribute surpluses to investors, instead the surplus is invested into the BWCE Fund, which is independently managed.
Since 2015 we have donated £430,000 to our Community Fund which has awarded 111 grants supporting community action on carbon reduction and fuel poverty.
